The 91st is on duty at the regiment on a cold winter evening. He makes a snowman and deviates from his post. Colonel Gyllenskalp comes by and finds that the soldier is frozen. The commander decides to call the battalion doctor. When the colonel returns with the doctor and Corporal Revär, the 91st is back in his post. By an ordinance from the depot in Yxhult, the colonel receives two tubes of new chemical agents to be tested. In one tube there is a disinfectant, Super DDT 55, in the other an explosive, Super NT 53. The 91st is at the battalion doctor for examination, when the 87th enters with one tube. According to the colonel's order, the doctor should test this disinfectant. The doctor picks up a dog to let the product measure its power with the dog's fleas. Colonel and Corporal Revär discover that the doctor accidentally got the tube of explosives. The doctor, the 91st and the 87th are struggling to get the tube up. They have taken a blowtorch to help, when the colonel and Revär screamingly rush into the reception. Now the dog grabs the tube and disappears with it. The dog digs down its prey. Then it enters the colonel's room and disappears with the other tube as well. ngemar Johansson, European champion in heavyweight boxing, trains in the regiment. The 91 looks in to him and gets instruction on how to hit a real right hook. Later, Ingemar is visited by the 87 in the same case. After an argument about the coveted Elvira, a nurse at the battalion doctor, the 91st and 87th, on Ingemar's advice, have decided to settle in a blind boxing match. With blindfolds on, the rivals start fighting in the gym. The colonel enters - and is immediately floored by the 91st. The fighters are fleeing. Corporal Revär manages to find the tubes that the dog hid. He hands them over to the colonel, who shortly afterwards receives a telephone call from the depot manager in Yxhult. The tube with explosives is too dangerous to handle, says the manager. It must be returned immediately. The 91st and the 87th are commissioned to deliver the tube. They take the train but have to jump off it, after a fellow passenger hastily threw the box with the tube out the window. They soon find the box and continue their journey on foot. The depot manager, who is impatiently waiting for the tube, calls the colonel, and he realizes that the 91st and 87th have deserted. Corporal Revär is sent to arrest them. The 91st and the 87th have been given a lift with a truck - which is stolen by two escaped prisoners. The lifts, which sit on the platform, are detected by the prisoners and are knocked down. The prisoners change clothes with their victims. The 91st and 87th are taken by the police as escaped prisoners. A moment later, the police can also show a couple of expired conscripts for Revär who went to the police station for help. Revar goes, when he sees that the wrong soldiers have been arrested. But the police are sorting out the confusion, and the 91st and 87th can continue their journey. They keep the tube. The 91st and 87th come to the depot in Yxhult. It's the wrong tube, the trustee yells and drives them away. The 91st and 87th return to the regiment. The angry trustee also comes here, rushes in to the colonel and punches the table - where the explosives chamber is located. The tube starts to smoke. The manager takes the tube out. Then he drops it. It ends up in a rubbish heap. The colonel has long ago given orders that the rubbish heap should be removed - without anything happening.
