Original Title SOS - en segelsällskapsresa
Description During his monotonous work as a toaster inspector at AB Toastmaster, Stig-Helmer sits and daydreams that he and his Norwegian friend Ole are Vikings on a longship when his colleague Bärsen wakes him up to offer him and his son Karl-Helmer to go on a sailing trip…Stig-Helmer declines because his mother has arranged a dinner for him and Karl-Helmer on Midsummer's Eve. That same evening, he leaves Karl-Helmer at his mother's home to be able to go to a masquerade for advertising people together with Ole, now self-employed with the one-man company Ole Bramserud Advertising. At the same time in a Japanese restaurant, the trend-conscious upper-class woman Madde together with her friends Krisse and Anna-Vera are in the process of persuading the financier Victor Uggla to lend their expensive twelve-meter boat New Sweden. With a female crew, they intend to challenge the boat "Kokaburra", which has a male crew and is led by Madde's husband Henkan, in the competition Midsummer Cup which will be held in the archipelago. When Henkan finds out about the challenge, he bets with Madde that if she wins with Uggla's boat, he will sail around Gotland in the children's training boat wearing her hat and dress. At the home of the newly saved sailor Arne, the family is tormented with his preparations for the maiden voyage in the newly purchased sailboat…Out on Stråholmen, the municipality's strongman, Ture Janzon, and "Stråholmaren", who are both fishermen and local traders of everything from smoked fish to video and ice cream, forge plans to turn the island into the Östermanland amusement park. Secretly, however, Janzon has allied himself with the financial puppy Kaj, called Kajan, and they in turn plan to lure "Stråholmaren" into bankruptcy so that they can completely take over the roll call. Anna-Vera, who is the daughter of "Stråholmaren", discovers the plans and intends to put a stop to them by creating attention for the plans in the media. At the advertising people's masquerade party, Ole, dressed as Superman, comes with the hope of being able to seduce Krisse, whom he has met before. Ole has bought a pink rabbit suit for Stig-Helmer. None of them manage to interest any of the party's female participants, and on the morning twig when they go home in their masquerade costumes and throw the bag with the change of clothes playfully between each other, Stig-Helmer happens to fall over a bridge and down on a garbage ship with the bag. Ole follows in his superman's suit, and succeeds in "borrowing" Arne's boat to catch up with the garbage ship that is heading out towards the archipelago. When Ole steps over to Stig-Helmer to help him look for the clothes bag among the garbage, Arne's boat drifts away and they are instead picked up by Krisse and Kajan, with whom Krisse has a relationship. In Kajan's new super-fast motorboat, they go at 60 knots to an upper-class party at Madde and Henkan’s… During a failed windsurfing attempt, Stig-Helmer drifts out to sea and is picked up by Anna-Vera. He accompanies her to Stråholmen, where he helps her and Stråholmaren to run the various sales operations in the marina. In the evening, Krisse and Anna-Vera Ole and Stig-Helmer inaugurate their plans to win the sailing competition the next day and at the same time stop the Östermanland project. To get media attention about Janzon's and Kajan's plans with the help of the TV broadcast from the sailing competition, Krisse and Ole paint the text "Save Stråholmen - stop Janzon's mold" in large letters on the spinnaker for the men's boat at night. During the race the next day, the women take the lead in the boat New Sweden, but are left unattended by the men in Kokaburra when they are forced to turn around to pick up Ole and Stig-Helmer, who just before had their borrowed motorboat Titanic sunk in the depths of a mysterious submarine. In the final sprint, the women still win because the men quickly take down their spinnaker when they see the text and thus lose speed. Before that, the reporters on the spot have noted the text and Janzon is fleeing from the approaching questions. In port, the women celebrate the victory by throwing Stig-Helmer into the water, but since he cannot swim, Anna-Vera dives after him. During the resuscitation attempts, Stig-Helmer plays drowned and finally unites mouth-to-mouth with Anna-Vera in a long kiss. Krisse decides to stay with Ole on Stråholmen for a few days and says goodbye to Kajan. The film's final images show a resigned Arne who, after regaining his boat and through brought a catastrophic sail - without ever having set sail - finally gave in to his wife's nagging about a summer cottage and sold the sailboat. In the marina in Stockholm, the man is taken away with the stern spinner - crazy after his hopeless attempts to start the engine for several days. In a small red sailing dinghy and wearing a dress and hat, Henkan sails off the coast of Gotland. (http://www.svenskfilmdatabas.se/sv/item/?type=film&itemid=16007#plot-summary)
