Description A story of sports and sentiment; a van-driver adopts the little daughter of the woman he loved, who dies deserted by her husband. the child is thrown by the van-driver's horses, and has to be nursed in hospital. The van-driver loses his job. But when everything looks to be at its worst he gets a job at a bookie's and introduces an old boxing pupil to contest the championship of an American boxer, who turns out to be the child's father. The champion is beaten and leaves his child forever in the van-driver's care. (BFI)
