Description Biographical athletics drama. In 1919, Harold Abrahams, is one of the stars of the amateur running team at Caius College in Cambridge. The team also includes other Harold's friends, such as Lord Andrew Lindsay, Aubrey Montague and Henry Stallard. In Scotland, Eric Liddell is studying, while giving a hand to his sister, who runs a local mission. He competes in the Highland Games and is convinced to become a professional runner by his friend Sandy McGrath. Harold and Eric finally meet on the race track. With Harold's Jewish ancestry a part of his drive, and Eric's Christian faith a part of his, this is the beginning of a friendship/rivalry that will culminate during the 1924 Paris Olympics. [BFI]
